Leading Supplier of Stub Shafts

Available from stock are a range of Stub Shafts to suit all Chainwheels, Compound & Idler Gears and Double Reduction Gear sets, in both Imperial and Metric sizes, and lengths from 85mm to 110mm.

Stub Shafts are available to suit Weld-On or Bolt-On options and all Bolt-On Stub Shafts are supplied with M16 Nuts & Washers.

Stub Shafts are required to locate the Chainwheel when not using a Chainwheel Sub-Assembly. In additon a second Stub Shaft would be required when using a Chainwheel in collaboration with an Idler or Compound Gear for Single and Double Reductions. These are more common on larger Industrial doors and Roller Shutter Doors where a Manually Operated mechanism is still required.

All NVM Stub Shafts are manufactured from Bright Mild Steel and supplied in a Self-Colour finish.

It is recommended when using a Stub Shaft with a Chainwheel, Compound Gear or Idler Gear, that either an Oilite Bush or Bearing is fitted to reduce wear on both the Stub Shaft and the bore of the Chainwheel, Compound Gear or Idler Gear. This will give a greater life to both components.
